Grecia Macías

Grecia joined Galicia in 2026 and is an associate in the Technology, Media and Telecommunications practice.

She focuses on the intersection between law and technology, with over five years of experience in privacy and data protection, internet governance, artificial intelligence regulation, intellectual property and intermediary liability.

Grecia approaches technological issues from a deep understanding of their technical workings, enabling her to translate complex risks into clear and actionable legal strategies. She has advised technology companies, digital platforms and international organizations on product counseling, regulatory compliance, risk assessments and strategic defense at national, regional and international levels.

At the international level, she has participated in discussions and negotiations related to international instruments on cybersecurity and cybercrime, as well as in various internet governance forums.

Grecia has participated in strategic litigation that has set important precedents before the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation in matters of intermediary liability, freedom of expression, and personal data protection, consolidating key criteria for the digital ecosystem in Mexico.

Prior to joining the Firm, she was a Legal Fellow at the Wikimedia Foundation, where she was part of the in-house legal team. Previously, she collaborated with a leading non-profit organization defending human rights in the digital environment in Mexico and Latin America, the Legal Advisory Office of the Federal Executive, and the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation.

Grecia holds an LL.B. from Universidad Panamericana. She was a Fulbright–García Robles scholar, which enabled her to obtain an LL.M. in Law, Science and Technology from Stanford Law School.
