Ma. de los Ángeles Padilla

María de los Ángeles joined the Firm as an intern in the Capital Markets and Banking & Finance practices. Her professional development went from associate to partner of both practices. She specializes on local and international public offerings in securities for both debt and equity markets. She also advises issuers and institutional investors on regulatory compliance matters in the securities market. Additionally, her practice consists of local and cross-border bank financings, representing both debtors and financial institutions.

She worked in the Inter-American Court of Human Rights in San José, Costa Rica. She also participated in Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton LLP’s foreign associates program in New York.

She holds a Law Degree with honors from Escuela Libre de Derecho in Mexico City and an LL.M. degree from University of Chicago Law School in the United States. 

She is a tenured professor for the securitization module in the Postgraduate Commercial Specialization at Escuela Libre de Derecho.

María de los Ángeles is recognized as a leading lawyer and expert by renowned international publications, such as Chambers Latin American Guide, Chambers Global Guide and The Legal 500 Latin American Guide, in the Capital Markets practice. The specialized publication, IFLR1000, recognizes her as a leading expert in her practice.
