In his transactional work, he brings a distinctive set of human and negotiation capabilities that bring parties together to produce lasting agreements. This personal skillset has helped him represent all type of clients, ranging from Fortune 500 companies to start-ups and across several regulated industries, such as mining, financial services, energy and infrastructure; and non-regulated sectors such as retail, food and beverages, TMT and entertainment.
He gained international experience working as an international associate in the New York office of Cravath, Swaine and Moore.
He has been a partner of the Firm since 2006, co-heads Galicia’s Mergers and Acquisitions team and heads the Mining practice. He obtained his Law degree from Universidad Panamericana and holds a Master’s degree in Law from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven.
Héctor is committed to Galicia’s human development initiatives. As member of the Talent Management Committee, he participates in nearly all applicant interviews and he is a driving force behind the design and delivery of Galicia’s innovative training programs that seek to create smarter lawyers and better people.
He is recognized by renowned international publications, such as The Legal 500 Latin American Guide and Latin Lawyer, as an expert lawyer in Corporate/M&A and Mining practices.
He is also a passionate triathlete, having various top-5 finishes and a podium under his belt.
