How to say thank you
Tipping

In Mexico, tipping is customary and expected in many situations. Most service industry workers in Mexico earn very modest wages and depend on tips.

Restaurants and Bars
In most restaurants, it is customary to leave a 15% tip of the total the bill.

In food stands lining the streets, tipping is not customary. However, we recommend you do not eat street food for health reasons.

Hotels, Taxis or Tours

If you received a good service, a tip of 50 Mexican pesos (or the equivalent of 3 USD) is common and appreciated.

For Concierge, Valet Parking and Bellboys in hotels, tip between 20-100 pesos as well as for Valet Parking in restaurants.
