Paola Yaber

Paola is a renowned lawyer specializing in tax, administrative, and evidentiary law, with a solid academic background and experience in both the public and private sectors. She holds a Law Degree from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México and a Master’s in Evidentiary Reasoning from the Universities of Girona and Genoa. Additionally, she has undertaken Doctoral studies in Administration and Government of the Judiciary at Instituto de Investigaciones Jurídicas in collaboration with Instituto de Estudios Judiciales of the Superior Court of Justice of Mexico City.

Her academic profile is complemented by diplomas and international courses, such as the Legal Argumentation and Interpretation program at Universidad Panamericana and specialized programs in constitutional justice and tax law in Italy and Spain. 

In her professional career, her role as Coordinator of Secretaries at the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation stands out, where she worked for 11 years with two Justices. During this period, she contributed to the analysis and resolution of relevant cases that set precedents in the interpretation of tax and administrative legislation. Subsequently, she served for 8 years as Magistrate of the Federal Court of Administrative Justice, where she consolidated her experience in the application of tax justice and evidentiary analysis.

Additionally, her experience includes implementing institutional policies in the legal field, being a member of the Gender Equality Commission of the Federal Court of Administrative Justice, where she led initiatives to prevent workplace harassment, promote gender equality, and ensure an inclusive work environment.

Currently, Paola is a partner in the Tax Litigation practice, where she advises clients on the resolution of tax disputes and offers strategic solutions based on her knowledge of tax and constitutional legislation. She is a member of the Latin American Network of Women in Procedural Law and Evidentiary Reasoning.

Throughout her career, she has been recognized also for her work as a speaker at national and international forums and congresses. Among her most notable contributions are her lectures on evidentiary analysis, tax law, and the challenges of tax oversight in Mexico. Her participation includes events such as the Congress “New Challenges of an Era of Ultra Surveillance” and teaching in specialized postgraduate courses on administrative contentious proceedings and tax defense.

Her commitment to research and academic dissemination is reflected in her numerous publications, including co-authoring the “Trends and Developments” section of Tax Controversy Mexico 2024 for Chambers and Partners, as well as articles in specialized journals such as Este País and the Federal Court of Administrative Justice. Her writings address key topics such as the implementation of constitutional reforms in the justice system and the analysis of tax norms.
